Nha Trang is a relatively compact city which is fairly easy to get around merely by walking. The main streets (Tran Phu and Biet Thu) connect to each other and the majority of attractions and nightlife options are located right near their intersection. Tran Phu runs right along the beach which is the other major tourist draw in Nha Trang, and many travelers find that walking along the beach is an enjoyable means of getting from one section of Nha Trang to the next.
Travelers who need to go a bit further than walking will easily take them are strongly advised to consider bike rental as an option. Most hotels will rent bikes to their guests at a minimal cost (usually less than $2 for the entire day. Renting a moped is another option for travelers who want to get around cheaply but more quickly than walking or biking will let them do.
Visitors will find that it is not necessary to get a rental car, because of both the compactness of the area and the inexpensiveness of other internal travel options. Even taxis are inexpensive in Nha Trang. The one drawback to relying on taxis is that they are sometimes hard to find. Calling them for pick-up is the best bet but another option is to find a local hotel, as most often taxis are found waiting at their curbs.
