Day 1: Arrival Hanoi On arrival you are picked up by tour guide and transfer to hotel. If time permits, we embark on a cyclo for a short excursion through the bustling old quarter streets named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. Overnight in Hanoi. Meals: Dinner Day 2: Hanoi city tour - Lao Cai After breakfast at hotel we enjoy a half day city tour starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex, containing the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. The complex also comprises the One Pillar pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of Hanoi. We follow this with a trip to the Temple of Literature, well known as Vietnam’s first university, and the Museum of Ethnology which displays an excellent collection of ethnic minorities tools and customes. The peaceful lake of Hoan Kiem and the bustling Dong Xuan Market are also visited. Enjoy a famous Hanoi water puppets show before dinner. After dinner transfer to train station for night train to Sapa. Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Day 3: Lao Cai - Sapa Picked up at Laocai Station early in the morning by our bus. Arrive at Sapa round 8:00 AM; Breakfast start at 10h30am to get to Lao chai village. Enjoy the overall pictures of the villages among terraces. Visit the H'mong living in wooden and bamboo houses. Continue going to Tavan village to visit the Dzay minority. Overnight in Sapa. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner Day 4: CatCat - Lao Cai - Hanoi Breakfast, visit village of the black H'mong (Catcat), walk around visiting people in the village and the hydroelectric power station built by the French in the old days. Back town have lunch and check out hotel, free to explore the town until take bus to get to Laocai Station for the night train back to Hanoi. Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Day 5: Hanoi - Halong After breakfast depart for Halong city. Along the way we make a stop over at Hai Duong province to observe embroidery-making women at work. On arrival we embark on a boat for an exploration of the legendary Halong Bay. This exciting five hour cruise will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. The limestone Karst formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Visit the amazing Thien Cung and Dau Go grottoes. After a seafood lunch on board we return to Halong city. Free at leisure discover Halong city. Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Day 6: Halong - Danang - Hoi An Enjoy sunrise in Halong city. Free at leisure until transfer to Noibai airport for flight to Danang. Arrive Danang, meet tour guide and transfer to Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An. Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Day 7: Hoi An - Hue In the morning, a half day city tour in Hoi An ancient town, a distinctive Chinese atmosphere with low, tiled roof houses and narrow streets; the original structure of some of these streets is still virtually intact. Many of the houses were constructed of rare timbers and decorated with lacquer panels engraved with Chinese characters and pillars carved with ornamental designs. Visit the Merchant house, the Japanese bridge, the community hall. Lunch at local restaurant. Transfer to Hue. Arrive Hue and check in hotel. Overnight in Hue. Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Day 8: Hue - Ho Chi Minh (or Hanoi) After breakfast visit Thien Mu Pagoda and Tu Duc tomb. Visit the Imperial Citadel – first built by King Gia Long in 1805. Here you will visit Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, The Mieu Temple, and the Nine Dynastic Urns and Khai Dinh Tomb. After lunch transfer to airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh city. Transfer to hotel. Free at leisure shopping at Ben Thanh market. Overnight at the hotel in Ho Chi Minh. Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Day 9: Departure Free at leisure until transfer to airport for flight back home Meal: Breakfast
